Welcome to EFL!
English as a Foreign Language (EFL) is an academic program designed to develop the basic English skills of students who wish to study in a community college or university in the USA. Working students can also benefit by improving language skills for their professional development.
Wake Tech’s international students represent over 100 different countries. At any given time, approximately one thousand international students are studying in various degree programs. For more information on international students, visit international.waketech.edu.
Reminder for advanced EFL students
Students who will be moving into a major in summer or fall 2012 should get a release from EFL and visit the EFL office to register for the math test before registration begins. Completing these steps will make summer and fall registration easier.
The EFL office will be temporarily moving to LE 24 with our lab in LE 203 for the summer. The TE building will be under renovation during summer semester.
Registration for Fall 2011
- Summer 2011 classes begin May 16th.
- The fall 2011 schedule is available online. Registration for Fall 2011 will begin on June 14st for returning students and June 16th for new students. Students may come in to see an advisor M-Th between 8:00 am and 3 pm. without an appointment.
- NEW CLASS: EFL 050, a writing and grammar class is being offered fall 2011 in the evenings for students who don't have high enough test scores for our regular evening classes. This class will also help students in the Early Childhood program who need to improve their English reading and writing skills to meet the new English requirements for the EDU classes.
